As a federal contractor at TSPi, I build robust, secure, and accessible applications for the United States Government — spanning legacy modernization, cloud infrastructure, and now AI-powered tooling.
On nxtStudio, an AI document intelligence platform that analyzes government solicitations and drafts content using local (Ollama) and cloud (AWS Bedrock) LLMs, I own the infrastructure: a 25-module Terraform and Terragrunt library that deploys isolated client environments — ECS Fargate, GPU-backed LLM servers, end-to-end TLS — to AWS GovCloud, including production environments for city government customers. I've also driven security hardening across every environment, building reusable Terraform modules for WAF, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, Security Hub, and AWS Config that cut vulnerability findings from roughly 600 down to single digits.
On the USDA Farmers.gov team, I led the full modernization of the Receipt for Service application, migrating a legacy ASP.NET Web Forms system running on physical servers to an Angular SPA on AWS S3 backed by .NET 8 APIs on AWS Lambda. I also built a check-in kiosk for USDA Farm Service Agencies that improved appointment tracking across 2,300 offices nationwide. I'm the team's go-to Angular expert and accessibility subject matter expert, guiding other teams toward Section 508 compliance, and I mentor junior developers through code review and pairing.
Volgistics is a small software company dedicated to providing software to manage an organization's volunteers. The team consists of 4 engineers, 2 IT professionals, 6 customer support/software testers, and an accountant, and they take great pride in developing software that helps make volunteering easy for people around the world.
The Volgistics stack is a combination of legacy and modern components. The back end is hosted on Windows Server, with Delphi performing logic, and data stored in a BTrieve database, while the front-end applications are single page web and native apps built with the Angular and Capacitor frameworks.
My proudest achievement there was independently rewriting VicTouch, the company's flagship application generating roughly $1M in annual recurring revenue — architecting and building both the Angular frontend and the backend services from scratch. I shipped a production beta in 6 months and fully replaced the legacy system within 12, all without AI-assisted coding tools. That project, along with pioneering Volgistics' shift to native apps and a modern DevOps workflow, helped foster a pivotal transition for the company that enhanced market competetiveness and increased the quality of development.
DornerWorks was an opportunity to be mentored by the best in the business. During my stay I worked on a variety of projects, most notably a timesheet written in "Angular on Rails". DornerWorks uses this application to track hours for over 200 employees, greatly decreasing the amount of time employees spend logging hours.
